Dr Steven Hirschfeld

 Dr. Steven Hirschfeld has 16 years experience in the field of pediatric hematology and oncology and HIV/AIDS as clinician, investigator, lecturer, author, editor and member of Institutional Review Boards and Data Safety Monitoring Boards. He worked for 11 years at the Food and Drug Administration in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research and the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research in oncology and pediatrics. Since 1999 he has been involved with the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium and is an active member of several professional societies. Currently he is Associate Director for Clinical Research at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the National Institutes of Health.  His interests are in clinical trial design and analysis, integration of risk and benefit, informatics, ethics and systems analysis.
